Customer Review Delicious!
I made some of this last night to relax before bed, and it was so comforting and delicious! I assume that there's some caffeine in it, since that's normal for black tea/chai, but it doesn't say anything about that on the label, which would be helpful. Also, it gives the serving size/directions in the description/pictures, so you'll want to look at that instead of the label itself, unless you have REALLY good eyesight. The directions on the label are SUPER tiny and hard to read, and that's coming from someone who does have really good eyesight. It says 1 teaspoon of chai to one cup of water, but I'm not sure if that means one literal measuring cup of water or if that means one mug (which can vary in size). I used a somewhat larger mug for it last night, and instead of all water plus some creamer to taste, I did probably 1/3 of the mug boiling water, then 2/3 heated Half&Half, just to make it a bit creamier. I wish I'd had honey, but I used a little bit of sugar (I might use more with today's cup). Because the mug was a bit larger, and it was before bed, and I wasn't sure how much caffeine was in it, I just used about 1.5 teaspoons. The instructions say to steep the tea in the water for 3-5 minutes and then strain it, but I didn't have the means for that, so I just used the metal straw my sister gave me that's specifically for use with loose-leaf tea. By the time I was done drinking it, much of the leaves had sank to the bottom, but it didn't seem overwhelmingly strong. I'm going to make another cup today, but I think this time I'll add a bit more of the tea, a bit more sugar, and I might froth the heated Half&Half this time. Then sprinkle some cinnamon on top. I wish I had whipped cream now! Anyway, this tea is delicious, and I would definitely recommend it! It's going on my To Get Again list for sure!
Longtime Amazonian Chai from India — a lively, spiced form of tea
This is a review for Darsam Masala Chai 8.8oz (250g) - Blend of Pure Assam Black Loose Tea Leaves, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves, Ginger & Black Pepper, Stays Fresh in Airtight PET Jar, Non-GMO & Gluten Free It contains lots of cardamom. If you like cardamom and the other spices in this mix, you might like this tea. You can get more flavor by grinding it just before brewing. It will release more flavor this way. Many people like to have their chai with milk plus their sweetener of choice. Personally, the right amount of sweetness makes all the difference for me. If I hit it just right, it's very satisfying. "Just right" for me is good and sweet. Some people are against sucralose, but I researched it in depth and the scare stories seem to be unscientific and overblown. False, basically. I find it to be a great sweetener. I bought a package of pure sucralose on Amazon, and it's one of the best purchases I have made. When using pure sucralose, you only need a tiny amount. Very tiny. It helps to have a tiny spoon like a snuff spoon, which you can also find here. It seems to take away bitterness very well. Many teas have some level of bitterness (from the tannins), and sucralose counteracts it very nicely. If you prefer a different sugar substitute, or a natural one, you might like allulose. It's one of the best, but many people haven't tried it yet. I think this chai is worth a try. I like it strong.
Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2025 Produces A Great Chai Tea Latte - Authentic Sourcing & Flavor!
Recently I have been drinking a lot of tea and have been greatly enjoying trying all types of new blends and sources. When this authentic Indian chai popped up to try, I felt like I had been missing out on a drink I had greatly appreciated prior to becoming absorbed in the world of green and oolong tea. This Masala Chai from Darsam offers exactly what you can expect from a traditional Chai beverage. I found the 1tsp to 1cup ratio to produce a slightly weaker brew than I prefer so I roughly doubled the ratio and was able to produce a great cup of chai. While I did try the drink as just a brewed chai, I quickly frothed up some milk, mildly sweetened with sugar and blended up a Chai Tea Latte which is my favorite form of Chai. I will need to give the iced chai latte a try as well. Again the product is truly authentic and provides great flavor whether consumed straight or in latte form. Because this product was so tasty, I browsed Darsams offerings which can be found on their amazon page https://amzn.to/4impK5k Again, I was very pleased with the product and was happy to be united with a drink I used to consume more frequently and have always enjoyed. If you like chai, this is one to love for sure!

I like this chai tea. It has plenty of flavor, and since it's loose leaf, you can make it as strong as you prefer. The ingredients all seem to be fresh, and it has a nice balanced flavor. My partner also enjoys this blend.
